Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt optional
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt
Set aside
In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and peanut butter until smooth and creamy
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until well combined
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms
Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls
Place them on the prepared baking sheet
Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each cookie
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted
Fill each cookie indentation with the melted chocolate mixture
Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top of the chocolate-filled indentations
If desired, lightly sprinkle coarse sea salt over the cookies for a sweet and salty touch
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set
Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
